Ilé Griot translates to ‘Home of the griot’ in Yoruba. This iteration of the library reimagined the community library as a functional living space, invites visitors to explore shared histories, practices, and memories of our diverse communities.
The installation, in collaboration with Alserkal Avenue, featured a curated collection of books and public programs that immersed visitors in the familiar comforts of home while discovering and engaging with ideas and narratives from various cultures present in the UAE.
Ilé Griot featured public programs in collaboration with Farah Fawzi Ali, Gulf Photo Plus, and Zenana Book Club.
